In 2006, the Board of Bowmer + Kirkland Ltd conducted an extensive Business Strategy Review with the aim of identifying a major new business area that would both balance and compliment its extensive construction activities and provide a sound platform for the international development of the company.

Homeland Security was identified as a major growth sector, where dynamic new products could be launched to help the Police and National Agencies meet the threat of, and manage the impact of, International Terrorism and Crime. To fast forward its Homeland Security vision, Bowmer + Kirkland Ltd created Soncell International Ltd as a vehicle to purchase specialist leading companies within the sector and then to mould the purchased competencies together, to build leading edge products and to deliver innovative and unique solutions.

Each of the companies maintains its individual identity and each is led by their own management teams, who collectively form the Soncell International group. Management and development teams from each of the companies work collaboratively across the group to deliver joint product development programmes.  No Project is too big or too small for the Group to work and deliver and a number of highly succesful joint projects have meant within the 16 years Soncell has become a trusted partner to many people across the world.
